It divides your quantity into whole stacks, then multiplies the number of stacks by the pallet footprint. The added-clearance figure simply adds 50% as a planning cushion.
What it does not do
It does not determine safe stacking, aisle width, fire-code compliance, rack capacity, trailer loading, product stability, or pickup feasibility. Use qualified site requirements for those decisions.
